Raise More was founded in 2023 by campaign staff who had worked on progressive campaigns ranging from city council to presidential campaigns.
We saw two things:
- Fundraising is the most critical part of a campaign, yet frequently also the most painful. For candidates themselves, call time is one of the most emotionally draining parts of their day, yet it fills their time. Fundraising is also a common source of anxiety and interpersonal friction across staff levels. We saw that reducing the complexity in methods and improving the user experience of all the people doing fundraising could make a real difference for campaigners.
- Candidates and teams were wasting precious time and resources on manual work when much of it could be automated. While field tools were experiencing a renaissance in innovation, fundraising tools were stuck in the past. Staff did hand research to find phone numbers, cleaned data in spreadsheets, candidates completed two conversations per hour, and email and texting were still not integrated into a single tool.
We had personal experience working with every tool on the market and trying to make them work. We were frustrated that there wasn't an easy-to-use, all-in-one modern solution that was reliable and affordable. So we decided to build it.
Our values
- Our positive attitude comes from celebrating the chance to work on something we love, something serving campaigners who make the country a better place
- Focus on users, not competitors
- We bias towards innovating, not the status quo
- We haven't built our defining feature yet - there's more to do
- Details matter a lot, because small things add up
- High-quality support, documentation, and training are non-negotiables
- Making everything easy-to-use can sometimes be more important than having every possible feature
- Transparency, honesty, humility, and reliability create trust, which causes a good reputation, which is the most valuable currency in sales
- We rely on inbound sales and word-of-mouth more than outbound
- Being enthusiastic and engaging interpersonally is an advantage that helps us serve our users better
- We're willing to forgo short-term gains to do the right thing
- We don't compromise privacy and security
- Profitability is a means to serving our users sustainably
- Writing should be clear and concise, and avoid marketing buzzwords or exaggeration, and that is important because we largely communicate in writing
- Pricing is frequently a place of distrust. We make pricing public, we allow for a free-trial, we don't require long term contracts, and we allow easy cancellation and free egress of all customer data in the format of their choice
